About You…
Name: Danielle
Nicknames or Aliases: Dani, some call me Speccy, I have been known as the Mystery in the past...
Gender: Female
Same Gender Stamp? Phht, not necessary. I'd rather not be a girl. v.v
Age: 23. 24 in two months.
Location: Central New York. Not quite close enough to be anywhere you'd recognize.
A Snippet From A Song That Suits You Well: I'm going to limit myself to one.
She, she screams in silence
A sullen riot penetrating through her mind
Waiting for a sign
To smash the silence with a brick of self control

Are you locked up in a world that's been planned out for you?
Are you feeling like a social tool without a use?
Scream at me until my ears bleed
I'm taking heed just for you

She, she's figured out
All her doubts were someone else's point of view
Waking up this time
To smash the silence with a brick of self control

Green Day, "She"

Your Favorite Quote:
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.

T.S. Eliot, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"

Likes: Cats, chocolate, naps, books, strings of fairy lights, the smell of the air right before a thunderstorm hits, having music on at all times, being complimented on a turn of phrase or particularly apt word, eating Skittles by color, seeing how far I can get a gullible person to believe me before I can't keep a straight face any longer.

Dislikes: Being woken up by dogs whining or cats knocking things off shelves, atrocious grammar and spelling, disrespect toward my parents (especially by my siblings), nightmares about the end of the world, humidity, mushrooms, my poor short-term memory.

Talents: Animals like me, even notoriously mean ones. In the right circumstances, I can write a thousand words in a couple of hours and make it something other people can enjoy. I'm known to be very comforting and supportive, even if I just think I'm doing the normal thing... Also I can find almost any song my friends ask for, especially cover songs.

Hobbies: Writing fanfiction, reading (books and fanfic), collecting music, baking, making jewelry, sleeping. Really, Olympic-level napping.

What Do Your Friends Like About You? I do whatever I can to make people happy and keep them that way. That pretty much includes all the reasons people usually mention: funny, sympathetic, helpful, whatever. I try to give attention without demanding any back. (this usually blows up in my face after a while, but hey.) They probably also like that I write a lot of porn. :P

What Do You Like About Yourself The Most? This is not a good day to answer this question, ha. I'm useful, I like being useful.

It’s Late At Night and You Have No Work to Do. How Do You Busy Yourself? Check Twitter, check LJ, go through CuteOverload, repeat until I'm sick of being awake, take a sleeping pill, wait for that to kick in.

A Little Deeper…
What do you believe is your ideal career? Sugar, if I could figure that out, I'd know what to do with this half-finished college education. If "ideal" means "best for a lifetime", I'd probably say something low-stress like being a librarian. If it means "what I'll do well but eventually end up burnt-out, jaded, and disillusioned by the world," then I think becoming a social worker fits that definition nicely.

What were you like as a child? I just came from a small family reunion, so I'm chock-full of stories about my childhood. I said my first word at 4 months. By the time I was a year old, I could speak in three or four word sentences that everyone could understand. When I was two and a half, my aunt and uncle would win bets with their friends by getting me to read the front page of the newspaper out loud. In school, I always had my face in a book. As a second-grader, I would read to kindergarten classes in the library while my class was having reading lessons back in the classroom. I was precocious, everyone thought I was brilliant, and a standard was set that I can never live up to again. Way to go, little me.

Are you satisfied with your life? No. I've made too many stupid decisions. If I could hit the reset button and go back, I think a decade would be enough to rewrite myself into someone I could be proud of being.

Someone kills someone who was important to you. How do you react? Crushing depression for a while. I'd undoubtedly feel suicidal, but probably be able to channel that into homicidal and either get revenge or die trying. Either way, my reaction isn't going to be smart or rational. That's not how I do.

Your Favorites…
Favorite Book(s)? Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk, the Dresden Files novels by Jim Butcher, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams.
Favorite Movie(s)? The Princess Bride is the absolute number one favorite. But also... Thumbsucker, The Fall, Reservoir Dogs, Shaun of the Dead, and Fight Club.
Favorite Artist? Auguste Rodin. The Kiss is one of the most perfect sculptures ever.
Favorite Music? The Mountain Goats, the Dresden Dolls, Death Cab for Cutie, Damien Rice, Ani DiFranco, Regina Spektor, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz... I love music, I could go on forever. I like at least one song of every genre, even ones I don't enjoy as a whole.
Favorite Place(s)? Boston, Massachusetts. Old Orchard Beach and Monmouth, Maine. Burlington, Vermont. Pointe Au Roche, New York.
What is Your Favorite Childhood Memory? My memory isn't very good. I don't have any really clear memories of being a child, mostly aggregate impressions of family gatherings at my Nana's house or my Grandma's, memories that are 50% dreams by now about the house where I used to live, false recollections based on family stories.

About Heroes…
Who is your favorite character on the show and why? I like season 1's Gabriel Gray the best. Not the retcon from season 3, not even Sylar, just normal, Six Months Ago, watchmaker Gabriel Gray. The one with something he's good at, a bland, dull, normal life, dreaming of something more. The one who's still waiting for someone to come and tell him how special he is. Of course, he leads into Sylar, who has all of my love, but it's that first glimpse of brown eyes through watchmaker's lenses that caught me hardest.
If you’ve ever followed the graphic novel, who is your favorite character from it? I like the expanded view we got of Claude in the comics. He was definitely not used to his full potential in the show.
Which character can you imagine yourself hanging out with? I could see myself spending a weekend mainlining anime and debating the merits of various protagonists with Hiro. (As long as Ando brought the alcohol, too.)
If you could have any power from the show, what would you have? Intuitive aptitude. I'm not interested in collecting powers, I'd just like to understand, because there is so much I don't comprehend, and if I did I could do so much more with my life.
Mr. Muggles - Is he a hero or a villain? He's a double agent, clearly. He'll work for whoever provides the best kibble.
Who would you clash with the most if you were a character on the show? I think if I ever had to talk to Claire, I would end up punching her in the face. It would only hurt my hand, but it would be emotionally satisfying.
You are able to go to dinner with one of the characters and have a nice, in-depth conversation. Who is it? This is completely asking for trouble, but I'd love to talk to Matt for a while. Provided he wouldn't take off from my thoughts of "oh my god, I would climb him like a ladder," he'd have such an incredible viewpoint on human nature and reality.

Yes, as you :D *hugs*

You remind me of him and Matt, but Luke wins out.
